Al-Noukhaza Al-Khaleej to Establish Butadiene Rubber Plant in Saudi Arabia

Reportedly, the plant is part of the final investment decision by Saudi Aramco and DowDuPont in Saudi Arabia's world-class petrochemical facilities. Engineering, procurement, and construction contracts for the project will be signed in the second half of this year, with construction scheduled to commence in 2024 and commercial operations expected to begin in 2027.
Neodymium-based butadiene rubber offers advantages such as improved fuel economy, traction, and increased tire durability, making it suitable for high-performance tires, particularly in the tread area. This aligns with Al-Noukhaza Al-Khaleej's sustainable development plan. On the other hand, lithium-based butadiene rubber is primarily used for plastic modification to enhance product impact resistance, with applications including food packaging and household appliances.
