On December 13th, Wanhua Chemical quoted 9800 yuan/ton for new pentanediol in Shandong region, 9900 yuan/ton in East China region, and 10000 yuan/ton in South China region.
On December 13th, Daqing's trimeric neopentyl glycol production in North China reached 9600 yuan/ton, East China reached 9700 yuan/ton, and South China reached 9800 yuan/ton. The 30000 ton/year neopentyl glycol plant was operating steadily.
On December 13th, Luxi Chemical Mall temporarily did not provide a quotation for new pentanediol (liquid), and the 40000 ton/year new pentanediol unit resumed normal operation.
On December 13th, Jiangsu Huachang quoted 9700 yuan/ton for new pentanediol, with two sets of 30000 ton/year new pentanediol units operating stably.
After two consecutive days of rising prices, the price of new pentanediol has gradually stabilized, but the price of isobutyraldehyde has not changed its upward trend. The factory price of Luxi Chemical is 8150 yuan/ton, and the domestic isobutyraldehyde price has once again reached the 8000 yuan/ton mark.
Operating rate: Recently, some maintenance facilities have resumed restarting, and the 40000 ton/year new pentanediol unit of Luxi Chemical has resumed normal operation. The new pentanediol unit of Fufeng Pasto has restarted, and the operating rate of new pentanediol has rebounded to around 70%. Supply may further recover.
Profit: The price of raw material isobutyraldehyde has increased, and the cost of neopentyl glycol has increased. Profit has declined compared to November, but it still maintains a positive profit margin.
Raw materials: The domestic isobutyraldehyde market is operating strongly, with little change in the price of propylene. The transaction range of formaldehyde market in Shandong region is between 1090-1140 yuan/ton, and market negotiations are average; The market price of isobutyraldehyde is relatively strong, and as of now, the high-end price of isobutyraldehyde has risen to 8150 yuan/ton. At the end of November, the price of isobutyraldehyde was 7200 yuan/ton, an increase of nearly a thousand yuan.
Demand: The downstream market for polyester resin used in powder production is flat, and the overall industry operation remains at a medium to low level with no significant boost. The mainstream domestic market price is 10500-11500 yuan/ton, which is stable compared to early December.
Overview: The raw material of neopentyl glycol has strong support, and the price of isobutyraldehyde has increased significantly. However, it has limited impact on the prices of neopentyl glycol and dodecanol esters. From the prices of major production enterprises during the week, the price increase of neopentyl glycol is lower than that of isobutyraldehyde. Although the raw materials have shown a strong upward trend, the downstream of neopentyl glycol is currently in the traditional off-season of the industry, and the actual market consumption has decreased. Although there is some expectation of stocking demand towards the end of the year, the stocking demand is still not significant.
