Supply side: In December, the overall supply of polyether was relatively sufficient, and the factory started operating steadily, maintaining a relatively high load. Currently, only Shandong Binhua, Tianjin Third Petrochemical, and CNOOC Shell factories have shut down, and there is no shortage of supply. Currently, Wanhua Chemical and Zhejiang Petrochemical have all started production. Although centralized production and sales will wait for next year, the supply of polyether remains sufficient. In the short term, there are no favorable factors to support the supply side, and the price has dropped several times but the response is mediocre. At this time, due to no significant change in demand, the equipment of Shandong Xinyue factory has reduced its load. It can be seen that under the continuous downturn in demand, working on the factory equipment is the consistent style of Huan C to reduce supply and alleviate pressure.
On the demand side: Since the follow-up of demand last month, there has been no concentrated demand for polyether to replenish positions. The demand has been weak, and the price trend continues to decline, with no positive support in the market. The upstream price of propylene glycol has been continuously lowered three times, a total of 200 yuan/ton. Polyether has also slightly followed the decline of propylene glycol, but with weak market trading, businesses are not buying as they fall. Polyether is once again exploring its historical bottom price. However, at the same time, the equipment at the Shandong Xinyue factory of propylene glycol has suddenly fallen. Although the demand response is average, it is expected that the weakening trend will gradually stop, and many are deadlocked and waiting for demand. However, there is no significant boost in demand. The expectation of price increase may be weak. In this market, there may be an increase in demand, and new orders will follow suit, but the sustainability may still be short-lived. After the demand ends, prices may continue to decline, and prices may continue to challenge low prices. Polyether may fall below the 8900 expectation, and the overall mentality of the industry is mainly bearish.
