Starting from mid September, the operating load rate of the PVC powder industry has significantly increased, mainly due to a decrease in maintenance, and the gradual increase in operating capacity of enterprises that have reduced their load due to losses or insufficient calcium carbide in the early stage; In October, the production of PVC powder gradually decreased, with an increase in maintenance and some unplanned load reductions. In November, the production of PVC powder fluctuated around 75%, with a relatively slow increase. This is partly due to the ongoing maintenance of some devices, and partly due to the unstable operation of some devices.
Starting from mid September, the industry's operating load rate gradually increased compared to the same period in previous years
This year, the operating load rate of the PVC powder industry was mostly lower than the same period in previous years, until mid September. As the operating load rate of the PVC powder industry gradually increased, the operating load rate of the PVC powder industry began to be higher than the same period in previous years. Starting from October 2022, the integrated profit of caustic soda/PVC powder gradually decreased, transitioning from profit to loss. Some enterprises reduced their load or shut down due to losses, resulting in a significant decrease in the industry's operating load rate. However, this year, the integrated profit of caustic soda/PVC powder began to improve gradually in September. Although the profit level began to decline in October, it is still in a profitable state as a whole, providing some support for the operation of PVC powder plants.
In the later stage, there is still room for improvement in the PVC powder maintenance as it enters the end and starts construction
According to research and statistics, domestic PVC powder enterprises have basically completed one or two inspections, and there are only two enterprises that have not yet been inspected. Among them, Ningbo Hanhua plans to inspect in December, and Leshan Yongxiang currently has no inspection plan. So from the perspective of maintenance, on the one hand, the subsequent cold weather is not suitable for maintenance, so the autumn inspection is basically at the end, and it is expected that there will be fewer maintenance devices in December; On the other hand, except for long-term parking enterprises, some of the inspection enterprises have basically completed maintenance before the end of December, and construction will gradually resume. Therefore, it is estimated that there is still room for improvement in the PVC powder industry load rate in December. If the integrated production of caustic soda/PVC powder maintains a profitable state, it is expected that the industry's operating load rate may reach around 80% in stages.
