The newly added installed capacity of gas power generation in the United States has significantly increased
The newly added power plants include Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plants and Simple Cycle Gas Turbine (SCGT) power plants, concentrated along the Gulf of Mexico coast and near the natural gas production areas of Appalachia, as well as in Florida. In 2022, a total of 11 natural gas power plants in the United States were connected to the grid, with an additional installed capacity of 5.6 gigawatts. After a continuous decline in the first three years, the new capacity of natural gas in 2022 and 2023 has increased.
In the next two years (2024 and 2025), it is expected that 20 new natural gas power plants with a total capacity of 7.7 gigawatts will be launched.
Combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plants typically provide both basic and peak power loads because of their high efficiency and design for long-term operation. Between 2022 and 2023, a total of 13 new CCGTs were put into use in the United States, with a total capacity of 12.4 gigawatts. The average installed capacity of 13 CCGT power plants is 0.9 gigawatts. Approximately 5.8 gigawatts of total capacity are located in Florida and Michigan. It is expected to add 4.9 gigawatts of CCGT in 2024 and 2025, with only 0.1 gigawatts planned for 2024.
Between 2022 and 2023, 14 SCGT power plants with a total capacity of 1.9 gigawatts will begin operation. The average installed capacity of 14 SCGT power plants is approximately 140 megawatts. Although the average production capacity of SCGT factories is much lower than that of CCGT factories, SCGT factories can quickly increase operations in the event of sudden changes in demand or intermittent renewable energy output becoming unavailable. More than half of the new SCGT production capacity launched in 2022 and 2023 is located in Texas, which has had high daily peak electricity demand throughout the summer and has seen significant growth in renewable energy in the past few years. The total capacity of the newly added SCGT unit is 2.8 gigawatts, mainly located near densely populated areas in Texas, and is expected to be put into use in 2024 and 2025.
JIN DUN CHEMICAL has built a special (meth) acrylic monomer manufacturing base in ZHEJIANG province. This makes sure the stable supply of HEMA, HPMA, HEA, HPA, GMA with high level quality. Our special acrylate monomers are widely used for thermosetting acrylic resins, crosslinkable emulsion polymers, acrylate anaerobic adhesive, two-component acrylate adhesive, solvent acrylate adhesive, emulsion acrylate adhesive, paper finishing agent and painting acrylic resins in adhesive. We have also developed the new and special (meth) acrylic monomers and derivatives. Such as the fluorinated acrylate monomers, It can be widely used in coating leveling agent, paints, inks, photosensitive resins, optical materials, fiber treatment, modifier for plastic or rubber field. We are aiming to be the top supplier in the field of special acrylate monomers, to share our rich experience with better quality products and professional service.
