Xu Lianghua, a professor at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, said that in recent years, the development situation of China's carbon fiber industry is very good. At present, three types of preparation systems, namely, viscose based, asphalt based and polyacrylonitrile based, have been formed; A precursor preparation technology system mainly composed of dimethyl sulfoxide method, with the participation of dimethylacetamide method and sodium thiocyanate method; A process system that combines wet spinning, dry wet spinning, and small and large tow processes; A complete product system with high-strength, high-strength medium modulus, high modulus, and high-strength high modulus.
With the continuous improvement of the performance of carbon fiber composite materials and the support of the "dual carbon" policy, more and more automobile manufacturers are also turning their attention to this.

In the new market where expected costs continue to decline and the industrial chain continues to improve, the proportion and usage of carbon fiber materials are expected to show an upward trend. At present, carbon fiber composite materials have been applied to models such as BMW 7 Series, BMW iX, Audi A8, NIO ES6, Chevrolet, etc.
Regarding how to achieve the large-scale application of carbon fiber composite materials, Ye Fuheng stated that this will begin with a disruptive development and innovation of the entire industry chain linkage, and requires the entire industry to collaborate and solve common technical problems, further constructing a low-cost development path. At the same time, it is also necessary to focus on the transformation and upgrading of new energy vehicles, achieve dual synergy of low cost and high value through integrated and functional development, and create high-value scenarios that are not just "light".
Ye Fuheng also mentioned that advanced mass production manufacturing technology will contribute to the large-scale application of carbon fiber composite materials. The mixed use of continuous and discontinuous fibers can further expand the application range of carbon fiber composites and achieve the composite of irregular solid components. In addition, data shows that recycled carbon fibers still have good mechanical properties and utilization value, which can not only be used in relatively low demand application scenarios, but also reduce energy consumption, which will further improve the industrial chain.
