Small solar installations in the UK are expected to break historical records by 2023
The UK Solar Energy Association (SEUK), a trading institution, stated that data shows that since 2022, the installed solar photovoltaic capacity in 2023 has reached 138336 units, up from 137926 units last year. SEUK described this as a "record for the industry after subsidies". As of September 26th, the annual solar installation volume recorded by MCS has increased to 142091.
According to the current trend, the installation volume in 2023 will also exceed the historical record of 203120 units set during the peak period of the 2011 grid price subsidy (FiT). The subsidy for grid electricity prices was cancelled in 2019.
SEUK stated that the number of solar installations has grown rapidly in recent years, with over half of the installed capacity in the past four and a half years being installed within the past 13 months.
MCS CEO Ian Rippin said, "Faced with the cost of living crisis and energy crisis, consumers are confident in turning to local energy, which is reassuring. Small solar provides energy independence and safety for households and business owners to cope with the increasing cost of electricity
There is still more work to be done to make it easier for British consumers to transition to low-carbon technology, but 2023 has already been the most successful year in our history for home and business rooftop solar installations. This remains a crucial step in our shared national net zero emissions journey, "Liping added.
Chris Hewett, CEO of British solar companies, stated: The reason behind the extraordinary location of rooftop solar deployment is simple. Grid electricity is still expensive, while solar energy is cheap, and in most cases, costs can be recovered in just a few years. This is one of the best investments that households and small business owners can make. Coupled with increasing attention to climate change and record breaking temperatures around the world, no wonder so many people are taking the risk of trying to decarbonize.
At the time of this news release, the UK government has lifted some net zero targets for decarbonization of the energy grid through heat pumps and electric vehicles. The good news is that domestic and commercial consumers are solving their own problems by installing small solar power, but the UK government still needs to demonstrate its commitment to decarbonization.
Chris Hewett, CEO of British solar companies, said in response to last week's net zero target rollback: "If Rishi Sunak really wants to limit the UK's position in this election, then this is a historic economic misjudgment. This proves that a leader is disconnected from the needs of British companies and energy consumers.
JIN DUN CHEMICAL has built a special (meth) acrylic monomer manufacturing base in ZHEJIANG province. This makes sure the stable supply of HEMA, HPMA, HEA, HPA, GMA with high level quality. Our special acrylate monomers are widely used for thermosetting acrylic resins, crosslinkable emulsion polymers, acrylate anaerobic adhesive, two-component acrylate adhesive, solvent acrylate adhesive, emulsion acrylate adhesive, paper finishing agent and painting acrylic resins in adhesive. We have also developed the new and special (meth) acrylic monomers and derivatives. Such as the fluorinated acrylate monomers, It can be widely used in coating leveling agent, paints, inks, photosensitive resins, optical materials, fiber treatment, modifier for plastic or rubber field. We are aiming to be the top supplier in the field of special acrylate monomers, to share our rich experience with better quality products and professional service.
