On September 4th, at the construction site of the second phase of the Jinneng New Materials and Hydrogen Energy Comprehensive Utilization Project located in the Dongjiakou Economic Zone of Qingdao, chemical plants towered and pipelines crisscrossed, and workers were nervously and orderly busy, creating a bustling construction scene. After the second phase of the project is completed and put into operation, it will become the world's largest propane dehydrogenation manufacturing base.
As a key provincial and municipal project and the first batch of major projects for the conversion of old and new kinetic energy in the province, the Jinneng New Materials and Hydrogen Energy Comprehensive Utilization Project is invested and constructed by Jinneng Chemical Qingdao Company, with a total investment of over 50 billion yuan and an estimated annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons. The first phase of the project was put into operation in September 2021; The second phase will commence in February 2022 and is planned to be completed and put into operation by the end of this year.
The second phase of the project still adopts the world's most advanced American Looms technology. In recent years, Jinneng Chemical has accelerated the layout of the entire propylene industry chain while moving towards green, continuously building and improving a circular system, promoting energy conservation, emission reduction, and consumption reduction, and creating a new benchmark for green chemical industry. Taking the propane dehydrogenation unit as an example, the hydrogen rich tail gas generated by the unit is transported through pipelines to the carbon black production unit, which can be used as fuel for the carbon black reaction furnace; The tail gas generated by carbon black is sent to the tail gas boiler to produce high-temperature and high-pressure steam, which is then transported to the propane dehydrogenation unit as the driving power of the compressor. The residual heat and pressure can still be further converted into electrical energy for use by the unit.
It is reported that in the future, Jinneng Chemical will also synchronously use the mudflat of Qizi Bay around Muguan Island to build offshore photovoltaic power generation projects, provide clean energy for high-end chemical new materials, reduce carbon dioxide and pollutant emissions, form a green low-carbon high-end chemical industry chain of "C3+C4+PV+hydrogen", and help Qingdao's high-end chemical industry move towards world-class level.
