New installations in major global PV markets are up

From the perspective of industry scale, by the end of 2022, global module production capacity and output reached 682.7 GW and 347.4 GW, up 46.8% and 57.3% respectively, continuing to maintain rapid growth. From the perspective of module production type, crystalline silicon modules are still the mainstream of the market.
From the module industry layout, the global PV module production and manufacturing center of gravity is still in mainland China, where the production capacity reached 551.9 GW, accounting for 80.8% of the total global capacity; the output reached 294.7 GW, accounting for 84.8% of the total global output.
From the perspective of enterprise production, the concentration of the component segment industry continued to increase last year. The market share of the top five enterprises continued to rise to exceed 50%, with the scale advantage, cost advantage and brand channel advantage, the head enterprises have obvious advantages. The scale threshold to enter the top five and top ten has further increased, with the fifth and tenth place production capacity increasing from 24 GW and 10 GW in 2021 to 30 GW and 15 GW in 2022 respectively.
From the production scale, in 2022, China's photovoltaic module production capacity and output reached 551.9 GW, 294.7 GW, respectively, an increase of 53.7% and 62.1% year-on-year, the overall scale of the industry to further expand.
From the import and export situation, in 2022 China's PV module exports amounted to 24.61 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 86.6% of the total exports of photovoltaic products (modules, cells, modules), an increase of 44.8 percentage points. 2021 PV module exports amounted to about 98.5 GW, an increase of 25% year-on-year, accounting for about 54.2% of China's module production.
In 2022, China's PV module exports amounted to $42.36 billion, accounting for 82.7% of total PV product (wafers, cells, modules) exports. PV module export volume is about 153.6 GW, up 55.9% year-on-year, accounting for about 52.1% of China's module production. 2022, with the accelerated pace of energy transition, the new installed capacity of the world's major PV markets have increased to varying degrees, driving the increase in module exports, which reached a record high.
